Chocolate in the Oven Bake Shop of Milford, NJ announced yesterday that they will support The Trevor Project with 15% of June’s bakery sales going to the organization’s ongoing mission to end teen suicide among the LGBTQ+ community.

Owner Cathy LaGuardia says to watch for rainbow-colored bakery treats being rolled out throughout June 2025 in support of this cause.

What is the Trevor Project?

The Trevor Project is the first nationally funded organization to serve the LGBTQ+ community of teens with services such as:

  • Suicide prevention
  • Crisis intervention – the Trevor Lifeline
  • Peer support
  • Mental health counseling via phone and IM
  • Information resources

What is the Story Behind the Trevor Project?

The Trevor Project is a 1998 short film created by James Lecesne, Peggy Rajski and Randy Stone which inspired the creation of a national suicide prevention hotline created specifically for teens age 13 to 24 within the LGBTQ+ community.

Since its inception, the Trevor Project has taken tens of thousands of calls from young people in crisis. They have since added counseling services  via instant message, as well as created the largest online social network for young LGBTQ people.

The US Department of Health and Human Services has appointed their agency as a leader for the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention, and they also represent StopBullying.gov. Learn more about the Trevor Project here.
