Frugal fall fashionistas will appreciate the thrift shop treasures that await them inside the Habitat for Humanity Restore clothing shop in downtown Washington Borough, Warren County NJ.
I was “last-week” years old when I learned that this isn’t a smaller sampling of what’s inside the Route 57 Restore. (That store is full of furniture and housewares — awesome thrifty finds, btw).

Rather, the Belvidere Rd. location in the borough exclusively serves as a secondhand clothing store.
Wall to wall, they’re stocked with gently used clothing, coats, jackets, and even shoes, for the whole family. The current theme is autumn apparel and accessories, in all of the festive fall colors and cozy cool-weather styles.
The best way for me to explain what’s inside the Belvidere Rd. Restore is to walk you through. Public Relations and Volunteer Coordinator Melanie Thiel was kind enough to put together an imprompu tour of the store while I was there.

With a tiny microphone and the help of her tech-savvy social media manager Nadia, Melanie delivered an off-the cuff spoken intro to the Restore and all their fall features — with totally flawless execution and NO ums or uhs!
Frugal Fall Fashions: A Thrifter’s Dream
If you’ve been worrying about how you’ll afford a wardrobe refresh this season, OR if you’re just looking to liven up your look without breaking the bank… you will love the Belvidere Road Habitat for Humanity Restore. Their team has done a fantastic job gathering and displaying their best fall fashion finds.
Staff members Lori and Lisa gave me some great recommendations that any frugal fashion shopper would find helpful.

Lisa suggested a fashion mash-up: mixing tops, bottoms, shoes and accessories to create an eclectic and funky fall style of your own. She also pointed out the value of scoring a great price on a top brand, which they have plenty of in store.

Lori pointed out the creative possibilities that come with thrifting. Think low-cost costume ideas for your next spooktacular celebration, or an ensemble that works perfectly for a theater production.
Tour the Restore: Habitat’s Belvidere Road Location (aka “The Hut”)
Let’s take a gander through the Habitat for Humanity Restore on Belvidere Rd. in Washington Borough… with Melanie Thiel giving the guided tour.
Gently Used Clothing: Great Styles, Smart Buys, Good Quality

There is so much Halloween dress-up potential living in these mix and match styles.

Cozy sweaters, colorful shoes, scarves to complete the look… fabulous finds for style seekers on a budget.

I couldn’t resist their wide selection of silk scarves to dress up any outfit or even keep your neck warm!

Necklaces, watches, bracelets and more. Thrifted treasures to accessorize in style…

They even carry lots of men’s clothing selections… casual and formal, in assorted styles.

Feeling pretty cool in this warm winter jacket from London Fog.

Name brand thrifted items in great condition… it doesn’t get any better than that.

And have I mentioned their huge selection of shoes?

You’ll save a bundle on new, gently used fall clothes for the kids!

And they even have dresses to make you the belle of the ball!

One more shot of the scarves, because I love the way they look, so colorfully and neatly displayed.
